Mark began his photography career shooting for Strawbridge and Clothier's fashion catalogues. For the past 14 years, he has served as editorial photographer for a number of Neil Award-winning magazines and received several Apex, Gold and Silver Ozzie awards for his work. He is also a professional actor and has worked with esteemed directors such as
Brian De Palma, Julie Taymor, James Brooks, and Peter Jackson.
Mark's passion for visual storytelling brought him to write and direct his first film Kevin's Friend in 2008. His approach to directing was to cull his skills from both photography and acting to bring his story to the screen. As a
writer, Mark aimed to compose a story with a timeless storybook feel that could be enjoyed by allages and have universal appeal.
In 2009, Kevin's Friend was an official selection in the Alexandria,
FirstGlance, and Utopiafilm festivals. In addition, it was chosen for distribution by Indieflix.
Mark is currently working on his next short film Finding Father that approaches the subject of grieving from a child's perspective and how the coming of age character of Dan struggles with her solution to deal with an adult family problem. Finding Father is looking for a 2013 release.
